About LuxRender

LuxRender is a free rendering engine which specializes in stimulating the flow of light according to physical equations to produce realistic images of photographic quality. It is a physically based and unbiased rendering engine. Based on state of the art algorithms, LuxRender simulates the flow of light according to physical equations, thus producing realistic images of photographic quality.

LuxRender doesn't use tricks to imitate real world behaviour, all calculations are done according mathematical models based on the real word. Physically based unbiased rendering engines offers the advantage of very realistic images. Rendering with LuxRender means simulating light according to physical equations, this produces realistic photographic quality images. LuxRender comprises an interactive GUI, a command line tool, and Blender 3D exporter Plugins (LuxBlend)

Some of noticeable features of LuxRender include Multithreading for multi-core or SMP systems, Compact RIB-like file format, Blender 3D exporter Plugins (LuxBlend), Physically based Light sources, Perspective Camera, Materials & Textures, Film/Texture Imaging Pipeline, Real-time engine control, Path Tracing, Bidirectional Path Tracing, final gathering, Instant "Global Illumination".

LuxRender Pricing

For LuxRender jobs, while we haven’t yet enabled fully automated Job Prediction, we still dynamically allocate cores to your jobs to manage the performance. Basically, all jobs submitted to GreenButton are allocated only a small number of cores initially, then once your job is running; our system monitors the job, and then determines how many extra cores should be allocated. Generally we boost the initial number of cores by 400% but please note, the extra cores can take a further 15 to 20 minutes to come online, so small jobs (less than 100 frames or single frame renders) may complete before the additional cores are available.

If you decide that your job is not running fast enough, simply contact us and we can crank it up even more.

We charge US $0.30 per core hour for all Blender, Yafaray and LuxRender jobs.
